Woman is arrested on DUI charges 'after driving on rim without a tire with a full margarita in cup holder'
- Amy Ann Dillon, 28, was pulled over in Tulsa, Oklahoma, early Sunday after police saw - and heard - her driving on a rim without a tire
- Dillon told officers she had consumed two tequila shots, but they say she could not stand upright
- The woman allegedly failed field sobriety tests and it was later determined her blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit
- She was charged with felony DUI second offense; operating a motor vehicle with defective tires; transporting an open container and driving without a license
- Last year, Dillon pleaded no contest to charges stemming from a previous DUI crash and was handed a one-year deferred sentence
Police in Oklahoma have arrested a woman on drunken-driving charges after they say she was spotted driving without a tire and with a full margarita cocktail in her cup holder.
According to a post on the Tulsa Police Department’s Facebook page, officers were conducting a traffic stop in the 6300 block of East 38th Street at around 1.30am on Sunday when they saw Amy Ann Dillon's wrecked vehicle driving on a rim without a tire after an earlier accident.
'We could hear her coming from a block away,' the status update read.
Amy Ann Dillon, 28 (pictured left in her mugshot), has been arrested on DUI charges after police in Oklahoma say they pulled her over in a wrecked car with a margarita in her cup holder
The officers quickly ended the original traffic stop and pulled over the 28-year-old Dillon instead.
‘When asked how much she had to drink, she stated two tequila shots (said this as she could barely stand upright),’ police later wrote.
According to the cops, Dillon also 'did not do well' on field sobriety tests, and when officers took a look inside her car, they allegedly found a full container of margarita in her cup holder.
After she was transported to the Tulsa County Jail, the 5-foot-7, 135-pound motorist was given a Breathalyzer test that found her blood alcohol content to be .21 'and climbing,' which is nearly three times the legal limit.
Police said they heard Dillon 'coming from a block away' thanks to her missing right front tire
Dillon was then booked into the jail on charges of felony DUI second offense; operating a motor vehicle with defective tires; transporting an open container and driving without a license.
Police said the woman also could face hit-and-run charges if it is discovered what she had struck, which ended up mangling the front right tire on her car.
This is not Dillon's first run-in with the law: Tulsa World reported that last year, she entered no contest pleas to charges stemming from another DUI crash and was handed a one-year deferred sentence.
Dillon was released from jail shortly before 11am Sunday after posting $2,000 bond.
