LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – A white, single cab pickup seen leaving a theft at Magee’s Bakery in Lexington, could be the key to cracking several burglaries in central Kentucky. But, Crime Stoppers needs your help finding it.
The break-in happened around 9:45pm on May 2. A setback for the bakery that’s been on E. Main Street in Lexington since 1956. In a matter of minutes, a safe, with some of their earnings in it, was stolen.
“An individual approached the side of Magee’s Bakery and used a tire iron, pretty simple just to smash the front door open,” said Lexington Police Detective Anthony Delimpo. ” They went inside, was inside a couple of minutes and went almost directly to the safe. Picked it up and walked out.”
The photos from inside the business aren’t great, but Lexington police provided Crime Stoppers with multiple images of the truck that left the scene.
“We have a great view of the truck. It’s a white pickup, Chevy or Ford not completely sure yet. Very distinct vehicle for the most part. And, the other thing we’ll add is we think this truck is involved in several other burglaries and thefts in central Kentucky, not just Lexington,” said Delimpo.
