Polestar has revealed the limited-edition Polestar 2 BST Edition 230, which is an updated take on the original Polestar 2 BST Edition 270.

A Polestar Australia spokesperson has confirmed the Polestar 2 BST Edition 230, like the original limited-edition model, won't be coming to Australia. Instead it'll be produced for European and North American markets.
A total of 230 examples of the Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 will be produced, with deliveries expected from the third quarter of 2023.
The BST Edition 230 is based on the recently-updated Polestar 2, which receives a new blanked-out grille inspired by the Polestar 3 SUV.
Unique design features include an exclusive Nebula green exterior paint colour, as well as MicroSuede textile for the seats and steering wheel inserts.
The Polestar 2 BST Edition can also be ordered with an exterior paint colour called Space, which is black, as well as an optional full-length body stripe.
The limited-edition model is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup producing a total system output of 350kW of power and 680Nm of torque.
That's the same power and torque as the current Polestar 2 Long Range model after it has been upgraded via a $1600 software update. It's also the same outputs as the original Polestar 2 BST Edition 270.
Polestar claims the 2 BST Edition 230 can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.4 seconds, and flat out you'll be doing 205km/h.
All the chassis upgrades that were implemented on the original limited-edition model remain on the Polestar 2 BST Edition 230.
These include a 25mm lower ride height, special Öhlins two-way adjustable dampers, front strut bar, 20 per cent stiffer springs, Brembo brakes with gold-painted brake calipers, and unique black 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245/35 R21 Pirelli P Zero tyres.
"Limited drops like the BST Edition 230 allow us to explore colours, graphics and materials in faster and more creative ways," said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath.
As noted above, Polestar recently detailed a number of changes for its Tesla Model 3 rival including single-motor variants switching from front-wheel drive (FWD) to rear-wheel drive (RWD), among other alterations.
Australian customers will be able to order a 2024 Polestar 2 in the second quarter of 2023 through the Polestar Australia website. First deliveries are expected in the third quarter of this year.
The 2024 model-year update to the Polestar 2 follows very similar changes to the Volvo XC40 and C40 Recharge electric crossovers, which use the same CMA architecture and are made in the same Chinese factory.
