Pilot Travel Centers implemented several enhancements in 2025’s first quarter, including modernizing many convenience stores and connecting electric-vehicle (EV) charging stations along national and regional travel corridors.
The Knoxville, Tennessee-based company said it’s “elevating the travel experience and powering up for the rest of the year, building upon momentum from the first quarter.”
“Expanding into new communities and modernizing our locations are key to our strategy,” said Brad Anderson, chief operating officer at Pilot. “Each new location and remodel reflects our ambition to be the leading energy and experience provider, equipping drivers with everything they need to recharge and hit the road ready for what’s next.”
Here are highlights of Pilot’s first quarter:
New Flagship Store
Pilot unveiled its new flagship travel center in Stanton, Tennessee, which spans more than 20,000 square feet.
It’s the largest travel center in Pilot’s network and “features a bolder brand-forward design, a guest-focused layout with inviting spaces and expanded fresh food offerings,” the company said. “The design of this location will inspire future projects throughout 2025 as Pilot continues to modernize and test new concepts.”

New Horizons
More than 200 Pilot and Flying J stores have been upgraded to date as part of the company’s New Horizons initiative, “while continuously integrating feedback from team members and guests after every remodel,” said Pilot, adding that customers said they are 80% more likely to return after visiting a remodeled location—“underscoring the program’s impact and value.”
In 2025 so far, Pilot has completed 11 remodels, extensively upgrading restrooms and showers, expanding kitchens and implementing “thoughtful layouts” to create a more seamless and consistent experience for customers and employees.
Recently remodeled locations include stores in Boron and Madera, California; St. Mary’s, Georgia; Brooklyn, Iowa; Marion, Illinois; Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; Gulfport, Mississippi; Troutman, North Carolina; and Lancaster, London and Napanee, Ontario.
Store Expansion
Pilot is also broadening its network. It open its first new travel center of 2025 in Winfield, Alabama, and added three dealer locations to its Pilot and One9 travel center network.
These locations add more than 150 truck parking spaces to Pilot’s network and include travel center services and amenities, the company said said, adding that it opened five new maintenance and tire service shops in the first quarter, bringing the total number of Southern Tire Marts at Pilot locations to more than 80 nationwide.
EV Charging Network
Pilot’s EV charging network now features more than 130 locations in more than 25 states.
Pilot said it aims to offer a “best-in-class charging experience” with these locations by offering amenities “not found at other charging stalls, including canopies for weather protection, free Wi-Fi, dining options, clean and well-lit facilities and access to restrooms and showers.”
Since the start of 2025, Pilot has installed 12 new fast-charging locations across 10 states: Alabama, California, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
Rewards Program
The myRewards Plus app includes personalized offers tailored to the on-the-go favorites for pro drivers and everyday travelers, Pilot said. Professional drivers in April can activate PushForPoints in the app to earn up to five points per gallon after just six qualifying fills of 50-plus gallons of commercial diesel.
Offers for auto drivers include a 10-cent discount on every gallon of gas when they save the offer in the app.
Pilot Co. is one of the largest networks of travel centers in the country, with 655 stores as of Jan. 1. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Omaha, Nebraska-based Berkshire Hathaway.
