CASS COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - An attempted traffic stop in Pleasant Hill has led to charges against a Kansas City man.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation late Sunday night. Instead of stopping, the driver began heading northbound on State Route 291 at a high rate of speed.

Eventually, authorities said the Pleasant Hill Police Department used tire deflation devices near the Green Bride on State Route 7. A 19-year-old man from Kansas City later identified as Lance Alexander ran from his car after the deflation devices stopped his vehicle.

Alexander’s being held in the Cass County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
