MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio - A police chase in western Ohio on Thursday led to a bizarre attempt to thwart officers before ending in a pile-up.
Authorities attempted to pull over a truck that had no visible registration.
The driver fled the scene and the pursuit began.
At one point, deputies deployed "stop sticks" — which deflated the tires — but the truck kept going.
Someone in the truck bed was also throwing wooden boards onto the highway in an attempt to disable or strike the police cars that were following.
The truck eventually went over to the wrong side of the highway, hit another vehicle head-on, and caused a six-vehicle accident.
Four people in the truck then tried to flee on foot but were eventually caught.
Among the charges the suspects could face: drug possession and aggravated vehicular assault.
The other people who were involved in the pile-up were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
