The Security Service of Ukraine released a new video showcasing the special operation “Spiderweb,” during which 41 military aircraft were destroyed at four Russian airfields. This video appeared on the SBU’s Telegram channel.

The footage shows the preparation and execution of the operation, led by SBU head Vasyl Malyuk under the orders of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The entire process was carried out under strict secrecy.

“Deep behind Russian lines, right under the FSB’s nose, SBU officers shared a unique plan. They smuggled FTV drones into Russia, which were hidden in the roofs of wooden modular houses. The preparation of the drones and houses took place just a few kilometers from the FSB office in one of the Russian regions.”

Initially, the SBU delivered FPV drones to Russia, followed by modular wooden houses. On Russian territory, the drones were concealed under the roofs of these houses, which were placed on trucks. At the designated moment, the roofs were remotely opened, and the drones struck the Russian bombers.

The operation was planned at five airfields: “Olenya” in the north, “Ivanovo” and “Dyagilevo” in the central region, “Belaya” in the south, and “Ukrainka” in the Far East. The operation was successfully carried out at four of them; the reasons for the failure at the Far Eastern airfield remain unknown.

The special operation took place simultaneously across three time zones using 117 drones.

“Strategic aircraft Tu-95, Tu-22 M3, A-50, Tu-160, Il-78 burned like paper models. Drone operators precisely targeted fuel tanks, engines, and missiles. Air defense was ineffective. Tires didn’t save them. Over a third of the enemy’s strategic aviation was destroyed or disabled. But even more valuable was the blow to Russia’s sense of impunity. This is an operation that changed the rules of the game.”

The SBU emphasized that the “Spiderweb” operation was a response to numerous Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, hospitals, and energy infrastructure.

Recall that on June 4, the SBU published drone footage used during the operation. In particular, a drone control technology combining autonomous artificial intelligence algorithms with manual operator intervention was employed.

On June 1, the SBU officially announced a drone strike on four Russian regions, targeting the bomber aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces. This involved the military airbase “Belaya” in the Irkutsk region, the “Olenya” airfield in Murmansk, as well as the military airfields “Dyagilevo” in Ryazan and “Ivanovo” in Ivanovo regions.

SBU head Vasyl Malyuk reported that 41 aircraft were destroyed in the operation, including A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22M3, and Tu-160. Preparation for the operation lasted over a year and a half, and the estimated value of the destroyed Russian strategic aviation is about 7 billion dollars.
