GCI Health announces new Asia-Pacific leaders as president announces exit
GCI Health has made several leadership changes in the APAC region, following news that president Rikki Jones will depart at the end of July.
The announcement:
GCI Health, a global healthcare communications agency, today announced that Kath Harrison has been named to the newly created position of President, International Markets, focused on Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and new growth markets.
Additionally, Eddie Morton has joined the agency as Regional Managing Director, Asia-Pacific. Morton will support Harrison in driving the agency’s growth and operations across the region, working closely with country leads and regional specialists to deepen GCI Health’s integrated offering across communications, public affairs and medical strategy.
Harrison, formerly President, EMEA, has been the driving force behind GCI Health’s rapid expansion in Europe and the Middle East, having relocated to Dubai in 2024. Her appointment signals GCI Health’s continued commitment to the region, where healthcare transformation is moving rapidly and where demand for strategic counsel is growing from both public and private sector clients.
“Increasingly, our global healthcare clients are organising their business around international markets, where innovation is happening at speed and where the next benchmarks for healthcare are being set,” said Kristin Cahill, Global CEO, GCI Group. “Asia-Pacific continues to be a major engine of growth and innovation in healthcare. With Kath’s leadership and diverse market experience, alongside Eddie’s deep Asia-Pacific expertise, we are strongly positioned to support clients where the future of health is being shaped.”
Based in Singapore, Morton brings over a decade of experience in health communications and public affairs across Asia-Pacific. He joins from Sandpiper Health, where he co-led the firm’s regional health business and advised clients on stakeholder engagement, policy strategy and reputation management. Morton began his career in journalism before leading government relations and policy for Members Health, the advocacy body for Australia’s not-for-profit health insurers. He then moved into consultancy, where he has since helped healthcare and life sciences organisations strengthen their voice and influence across the region.
“Asia-Pacific represents one of the most opportunity-rich regions in the world, as healthcare rapidly evolves from treating disease to preventing it altogether,” said Morton. “I am excited to build on GCI Health Asia-Pacific’s legacy of excellence and help our clients engage meaningfully with patients, providers and systems.”
Rikki Jones, President, Asia-Pacific, will be leaving GCI Health in July to take on a new opportunity.
