Despite lingering snowfall across the state, Friday marks the last day Oregonians can use studded tires.

Drivers have until Friday to remove their studded tires before facing a potential fine, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Failure to remove studded tires could result in a Class C traffic violation, which generally carries a fine of $165.

Studded tires are legal in Oregon from Nov. 1 through March 31. ODOT officials said the deadline will likely not be extended this year.
